Exam and X-rays
We evaluate the tooth and surrounding bone with X-rays to plan the safest, most efficient extraction.

Anesthesia and sedation
We administer local anesthesia to numb the area. Nitrous oxide or oral conscious sedation is available for anxious patients.

Extraction
We gently loosen and remove the tooth. Surgical extractions (for impacted teeth) may require a small incision.

Gauze and clot formation
We place gauze over the socket and ask you to bite down to help a blood clot form.

Post-operative instructions
We provide detailed aftercare instructions and answer any questions before you leave.
Recovery & Aftercare
- Bite on gauze for 30–45 minutes after the procedure
- Avoid rinsing, spitting, or using a straw for 24 hours
- Apply ice packs to reduce swelling — 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off
- Eat soft foods for the first few days
- Take prescribed or over-the-counter pain relievers as directed
- Do not smoke for at least 72 hours — smoking increases dry socket risk
- Call us if you experience severe pain, swelling, or bleeding after 24 hours

Bone Grafting
Periodontal disease and tooth loss can compromise the jawbone, making it unable to support a dental implant. If you are suffering from bone loss and would like to receive dental implants or another type of restoration, our team may recommend bone grafting to stimulate growth in the jaw and create a stable foundation for your implant.
Sinus Lift
A sinus lift (maxillary sinus elevation) is performed for patients who do not have enough bone height in the upper jaw to support a dental implant, or when the sinuses are too close to the implant site. Like bone grafting, a sinus lift may be required as a preliminary step before dental implant surgery.
Ridge Augmentation
